Yes to the Wedding Dress

One of the most fun, special parts of wedding planning for me was wedding dress shopping! It’s a day to dress up and feel special and get excited about your upcoming big day! There’s a number of ways you can approach your dress shopping- bringing an entourage of family or bridesmaids, visiting several stores or even travelling to find the right dress. I chose to bring my mom, sister and grandma and we went to one store, tried on a million of the prettiest wedding dresses I’ve ever seen and found THE ONE! It was such a great day to share with my family.

As you’re planning your rustic chic barn wedding, you really have the opportunity to select a dress that matches the aesthetic of your personal wedding style. If you’re going casual barn wedding, you might consider a tea or knee length dress. If you’re glamming up your barn with chandeliers, you can go fancier and fuller. A lace overlay is a very classic look to match that vintage feel and is always a great choice too. Selecting your wedding dress is a very personal choice and you can’t go wrong if you’re keeping in mind the “vibe” of your wedding as you’re picking out your dress. It’s probably best not to do a full satin gown if you’re going for a laid back vibe. Similarly, you may not want to choose something short if you’re going for an elegant, refined feel in your barn venue. All that being said, a barn or farm venue gives you a lot of flexibility and versatility to work on the spectrum of casual-fancy and find a dress you love that matches with your style.

Without further ado, here are a few suggestions of wedding dress styles that might be just the right fit for your rustic barn wedding style:
