Having a farm wedding provides some pretty unique opportunities! First, there’s the surroundings and landscape which are going to make for a picturesque wedding day. If you’re using a barn for your wedding reception, what a beautiful setting for your affair. And on top of all that, you’ve got the opportunity to use the wide open spaces in a unique way. So, may we suggest… Lawn Games!
We have seen an increasing trend in brides and grooms choosing to have some lawn games available for guests during the cocktail hour, sometimes even during the reception! By lawn games, I’m referring to cornhole, horseshoes, croquet, bocce ball, and even giant Jenga! If you’re fortunate to enjoy good weather and a beautiful grassy space for your wedding day, adding some lawn games to your affair will surely be a touch guests remember! Plus, it’s a great way to get guests involved and in the party mood with some friendly competition as they sip they’re cocktails.
If you go this route, there are some great shops on Etsy that will allow you to order customized cornhole boards and beanbags to match your wedding theme (a few of my favorites can be found here and here). Or, you can easily find a vendor to buy other game sets. Just set it up in a space nearby your cocktail hour so it’s not missed, but out of the way so you have space and none of your guests are endangered by stray bean bags! Then, guests can let loose and enjoy a fun start to your wedding celebration!
So, whether you’re well underway in your wedding planning and looking for a new fun element to add that’s a simple online order away, OR, just getting started on your planning and brainstorming some nifty things to add to your wedding day, lawn games are a great activity to consider!
Have a great weekend!
